Melissa Stout, Holistic Practitioner
AP, MS, RYT 200
I’ve been teaching yoga for the past 11 years, and I’m constantly amazed by the connection it brings to the body, mind, and soul. Yoga is a gift I’m excited to share with others, encouraging individuals to feel “at home” in their own bodies. As a cancer survivor, I started gaining a deeper interest and understanding of eastern and holistic medicine, and finished my Master’s Degree in Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine early 2025! I’ve done my clinical training in Iowa at the Integrative Wellness Center, receiving supervision from MD’s and Ayurvedic Doctors, seeing over 100 patients upon graduation. I strive to empower people who come in with health concerns to learn about ways to activate their body’s own healing intelligence through the use of herbs, using food as medicine, and making healthy lifestyle changes.

Cassy Burlingame, therapist

SISU is a Finnish word that closely translates to strength of will, determination, and perseverance. Sisu is tapping into the strength beyond what you initially thought you had. As your therapist, I aim to help you find your sisu and overcome barriers keeping you from experiencing well-being and peace while providing the affirmation you need to feel supported.
My experience as a school social worker and a medical social worker in a tier-one trauma center has given me a well-rounded perspective of the unique challenges children, professionals, and adults experience in these settings. I specialize in evidence-based trauma treatment, family therapy, and multi-systemic therapy utilizing a holistic perspective.

Laird Walker, Therapist
LMSW
I’m a licensed clinical social worker, therapist, and educator with over a decade of experience supporting youth, families, and professionals in school, community, and carceral settings. Through my work with JustWorks LLC and LifeHoops, I’ve developed a practice that integrates Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Restorative Practices, and the Liberation Health Framework to promote healing, clarity, and empowerment—especially for those navigating systemic oppression, trauma, and identity-based stress. I am also a trained Restorative Justice Practitioner through New Root Learning Institute and Precious Blood Ministries, and have over 8 years of experience facilitating a wide range of community-building circles and groups.
Whether you’re a young person seeking stability, an educator managing chronic stress, or a community member looking to reclaim agency, I offer a space that is practical, compassionate, and grounded in justice. Together, we explore how personal struggles intersect with broader systems—and how to move toward change using your strengths, values, and vision for yourself.
I also run LifeHoops, a mentorship and wellness program that uses basketball as a tool for emotional regulation, resilience-building, and authentic self-expression among BIPOC boys impacted by trauma, racial injustice, and structural violence. My approach to therapy is relational, strengths-based, and culturally responsive—centered on helping clients reconnect with what makes them whole.
